Non-stop routes, winter 2026–27
- Winter schedule
- Runs from 25 October 2026 to 27 March 2027, according to the airport director quoted by Dainik Jagran on 28 October 2026. Timings changed from the summer schedule.Dainik Jagran, 28 Oct 2026, checked 1 Nov 2026
- Cities with non-stop flights
- Delhi, Noida (Jewar), Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Pune, Jaipur, Lucknow and Pithoragarh: twelve cities on the airport’s winter list.Dainik Jagran, 28 Oct 2026, checked 1 Nov 2026
- Airlines
- IndiGo flies most of the routes. Air India flies Delhi and Mumbai, Air India Express flies Bengaluru, and Alliance Air flies Pithoragarh.Dainik Jagran, 28 Oct 2026, checked 1 Nov 2026
- Kullu (Himachal)
- Amar Ujala reported on 25 October 2026 that Alliance Air would restart its Dehradun–Kullu flight from 3 November, approved until 27 March 2027. The airport director told Amar Ujala the Kullu flight was among those approved, but Jagran’s list of 28 October does not include it, so check Alliance Air’s site before you plan around it.Amar Ujala, 25 Oct 2026, checked 1 Nov 2026
- International flights
- None. Every route on the airport’s winter list is domestic, so flying in from abroad means changing planes at an Indian hub such as Delhi or Mumbai.Dainik Jagran, 28 Oct 2026, checked 1 Nov 2026
- Airport contact (AAI)
- Dehradun Airport (DED), Airports Authority of India: 0135-2412052 or 0135-2410358, apd_vidn@aai.aero.AAI: Dehradun Airport, checked 1 Nov 2026
One airport, and it is not in town
Every scheduled flight to Dehradun lands at Jolly Grant (code DED), which the Airports Authority of India (AAI) runs. It is near Doiwala, about 25 km south of the city and only about 20 km from Rishikesh, on Wikipedia’s figures. So when you search for flights to Dehradun, DED is the only code you need, and the drive into town is part of the trip. Our page on getting from Jolly Grant into the city covers the taxi counter, the cab apps and the bus.
It is a busier airport than its size suggests. AAI counted about 18.7 lakh passengers here in 2025–26 (April to March), up about 8.5% on the year before, as Wikipedia reports from AAI’s traffic figures. Busy flights fill early around holidays, so if your dates are fixed, it pays to book the flight before you plan the rest.
Which cities fly direct this winter
On 28 October 2026, Dainik Jagran published the winter list from the airport director, Bhupesh CH Negi. This is what it shows, by city and airline. We have left out timings and how many flights a day on purpose. They shift through the season, and an old number on our page is worse than none. Check the airline’s own site for that.
| From | Airline(s) |
|---|---|
| Delhi (IGI) | IndiGo, Air India |
| Noida (Jewar) | IndiGo |
| Mumbai | IndiGo, Air India |
| Navi Mumbai | IndiGo |
| Bengaluru | IndiGo, Air India Express |
| Hyderabad | IndiGo |
| Kolkata | IndiGo |
| Ahmedabad | IndiGo |
| Pune | IndiGo |
| Jaipur | IndiGo |
| Lucknow | IndiGo |
| Pithoragarh | Alliance Air |
A few of these routes are new. Navi Mumbai’s airport opened for flights in December 2025, ET TravelWorld reported, and Noida International Airport at Jewar began passenger flights on 15 June 2026 with IndiGo, according to The Hindu. The Pithoragarh flight, a 42-seat Alliance Air service, was inaugurated by the Chief Minister at Jolly Grant on 26 March 2026, ANI reported. Kullu may join the list from 3 November; see the note in the box above.
Routes change each season, usually at the end of March and the end of October. We re-check this page when the summer schedule is announced. If a route matters to you, search it on IndiGo, Air India, Air India Express or Alliance Air and pick “non-stop”.
Two airports each for Delhi and Mumbai
Both of India’s biggest cities now have two airports with flights to Dehradun. From Delhi you can fly from IGI or from Noida’s new airport at Jewar. From Mumbai there is the main airport and Navi Mumbai. Pick the one closer to where you start, not the one you are used to. A long cross-city drive to the “usual” airport can cost more time than the flight.
If you are coming from Delhi itself, weigh the flight against the train and the road door to door. The Dehradun Shatabdi (12017) and the Vande Bharat (22457) reach Dehradun station, which is much closer to the city centre than the airport. Check trains by number on NTES and book on IRCTC. Our Delhi to Dehradun page compares all of them.
No direct flight from your city?
Then you change planes, almost always in Delhi, Mumbai or Bengaluru, the routes with the most choice. Two things we would watch:
- Book it as one ticket where you can. If the first flight is late on a single booking, the airline usually rebooks you onto a later connection. On two separate tickets, that problem is yours.
- Leave room in winter. IMD’s report on the climate of Dehra Dun says dense and prolonged fog in winter can cause severe disruption of air, rail and road traffic. The same report notes that Dehradun itself gets fewer fog days than you might expect, so the bigger risk is often at the other end, on the plains. A tight connection through Delhi on a winter morning is the one we would avoid.
Coming from abroad works the same way: land at an Indian hub, then take a domestic flight to DED. Nothing on the current winter list flies to Jolly Grant from outside India.
How we’d plan the flight, from two friends who live here
- Choose your landing time with check-in in mind. Check-in at Fyonli Nest is from 2 pm. If you land early, you have a few hours to fill between the airport and the house. A slow drive in and lunch in town fill it well.
- Land in daylight if you have a choice. The ride in from the airport is easier to judge in daylight, and in winter the sun sets early. Our winter guide has the details.
- Use the airport’s position. Jolly Grant is closer to Rishikesh than to Dehradun. If Rishikesh is on your list, put it on your last day before an evening flight out, not your first.
- Check before you leave home. Look at your flight status on the airline’s site the evening before and again in the morning, especially in fog season and in the monsoon. Our page on how to check roads and weather lists where we look.
- Tell us when you land. We live ten minutes away and meet guests at the gate, so a WhatsApp message when you leave the airport helps us be there.
When your dates are clear, see the rooms and send us a request. We confirm on WhatsApp, and there is no payment until we do.
